By Graceli Ramos – 5A
The Adult Night High School
through the Ripples, Punlad and Uhay organizations led this year’s annual English Week Celebration. The academic celebration with the theme “Improving Adult Learners’ Achievement through the

twister.
The launching was followed by other activities aimed at challenging
the wits and skills of students and boosting their confidence in the language. Activities
included an on-the-spot essay writing contest, a storytelling contest, and an improvisation activity. Aside from the contests,
an exhibit that shows the students work from the different year levels in their English subject was put on display at the
NFE Building Room 308.

Kabilang

ANHS SPORTSFEST Rocks Benilde
by Alfonso Reyes – 2A
The St. Benilde gymnasium was filled with excited students from the Adult Night High School as the long awaited annual
sports fest formally opened last December 18, 2006.
Headed by Ms. Teresita V. Gorayeb and the Sports Moderators from the Formal and Non-Formal Education
did the symbolic passing and lighting of the torch signalled the much awaited opening of this annual sporting event.
Ms. Gorayeb told each of the competing teams from different levels that the sports fest was aimed
to foster healthy competition and good sportsmanship. She added that the event was not all about winning, but to help each
student to develop a positive attitude and to attain a higher knowledge of life. Those who came prepared had shown no mercy
against their weaker opponent, turning every opportunity into a point, showing the months of their preparedness.
Students from different levels were like mad dogs as they cheered
to support their team representatives. At the end of each game, only the fittest and who with better strategies were left
to compete in the finals. The second day of the said event, St. Benilde was set on fire once more, as each surviving team
felt the intense pressure applied by the enthusiastic supporters of each team. After the time elapse, only the teams who had
